Autoplay mpegs while downloading

Well for many years now my windows media player hasn’t given me too many problems, within the past few days it decided to stop playing mpegs until they are fully downloaded, it use to run them as they were downloading. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this, clicking on videos online then having to wait until the whole thing is downloading to view it is starting to annoy me beyond belief, thanks for any help. I thought it might have been because I have been low on space and have my temporary internet file space prety low, however I keep up on that and have more space today than in many recent months.

I’m having the exact problem. I made no changes to my system but was recently infected with a dload trojan. I got rid of the virus but now have the problem with my media player. I like mplayer2 because it is simple and that you can view the video as it is downloading. I would certainly appreciate any help.

Well, I have fixed my issues. I got pretty screwed by some adware/malware awhile back as well and thats about the time it happened. To fix it I ran Ad-aware SE and then came across another program called Crap Cleaner that also worked wonders. Apparently even though my harddrive said I had space the comp wanted to play some tricks, run crap cleaner which you can get from www.ccleaner.com and ad-aware, scandisk and see if there is a difference. run the analyze function first to get a report of what will be removed. good luck.
