se Guest | Hae been trying a few of the sujestions but the problem always returns!!!
Anyway I downloaded 3 files from Microsoft and installed them all unfortunatly not sure which individual program fixed or combination of all 3
WM9Codecs.exe (This has been sujested before)
wmp6cdcs.exe
wmv9VCMsetup.exe
I am fairly sure they were all from the microsoft site. I was that sick of trying to fix the problem that I didn’t grab exact link to where they were sorry

NilePrince Guest | I downloaded some files of Kazaa (lite) WMV format. More than 200-300 users per file. On BBand I get great spead on the downloads. The problem happens when trying to open the file. It successfuly aquires the lisence, plays but without visual or sound, just one line from top to bottom on WMP9. I have tried everything. If the files were corrupt then why would so many users have them and what do I do.

zeidy Guest | I was having the same issues, i already had the windows media 9 codecs installed and was having issues. I intalled them over and had worse results. But what i found was that if u reinstall windows media player 9 first, then reinstall the codecs it works fine. For some reason my computer wanted both reinstalled in that order before it would work correct. Just thought I’d post that in case some of you had the same issues i had. As far as the links.... other people already posted them before this post, so just look it up.

The_lord Guest | I have the same problem, I tried all the codecs I have on my computer. At first I was trying to play a movie named fantastic 4.avi but the WMP didn’t want to play it, so I tried to install any codec would help, then this error comeup. I couldn’t play my old movies any more. I tried the links you said, and I hope it works.

Rian Guest | WMV1 Codec Error was resolved in my case by downloading Windows Media Player 10. Works like a dream with no error messages.

Eskimow Guest | Same exact problem now after I accepted a Microsoft update
to Windows Media 9 an hour ago. WMV1 codec now missing! No
doubt this is due to some genius in India and same lack of
support MS has always shown for its JUNK! You would think
they would build this stuff so it was bullet proof and
simple - just the reverse! We dont need WWIII. We have
Microsoft! Not sure I will ever get this fixed. What a
fucked up life we have now will these computers.. sorry
for the harsh words but its fact.
