how to view movie clips ending in .htm extension? plz help!

hi ,
i downloaded some vedio clips. the clips have a .htm extension and whenever i try to view it on WMP it says:“Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
i am a newbie and am super confused! Any ideas, anybody? thanx!

Dude .htm files are not video clips, rather they are html pages / source code for web pages. One way that you could end up with such files when trying to download video clips is if the video clip no longer exists on the server or if you do not have permission to download the file in question then the server may return an error message in the form of a html page....
