k guyz.... system restore didn’t work, and your going fucking nuts... ight i figured my shit out in half an hour.
so even though it says that it can not be imported, it IS!
so save the movie to “desktop” and record your shit. And it WILL say that it couldn’t be imported, but you’ll find it on desktop.

ya.... you guyz can thank me i guess
blaze cronic,

I’ve never used movie maker until I tried to make an AMV with an avi, so I can’t use your tip, bob, as I don’t know when the change occured.

(If the anyone gets the message: “the box isn’t checked” thingie, just go into tools/options and check it)

No, it did not work for me. I didn’t ignore your post. I used it. doesn’t work.

It didn’t work for me, either. In fact, the reason I don’t have the codec anymore is because I had to do a system restore before, and it erased mine.

All we need to know is which codec to download that will help.

I would love to try your solution. Just one minor problem. I cannot remember when I first started to have this problem so there’s no date to restore to.

I found that going into Tools->Options->General Tab and selecting “download codecs automatically”, worked for me.
