The file C:\Users\Chella Bella\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Colbie Caillat\Coco\03 One Fine Wire.m4a cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
What do I do?

vicky678 Guest | This is driving me crazy!!! I keep trying to import some wmv files that were downloaded from my video camera. I’m able to play them perfectly fine in windows media player, but when I try to import it into Movie Maker, the video turns into one line and the audio is just fine. What’s going on??

Yeah that wouldn’t work for me either because I have Always gotten this codec error. WMP Has never downloaded the correct codec...EVER. It Usually dosn’t download anything at all, it just comes up with another error.

Checkers Guest | Hey. My friend was trying to download some videos that I downloaded and was having trouble, so I put them on a file site for her to download from. They still didn’t work. I came here and discovered that I was downloading them with DivX and she doesn’t have that codec. I’m having her download it right now, so I hope this works.

xDGiiRL Guest | Well, I had the same problem, so I tried to reproduce the .avi file with Windows Media reproducer...
I just hear the audio from the vid but, I couldn’t see the vid... then I see a little red X in the left side of the file name.
I clicked on it and it said err details or something like... then it open a new window that said it require a codec to reproduce the file. To determinate if I could download it from Internet click on help on the web... then just follow the instruccions that will appear...

Instead of killing youself trying to find codec, do this.....It worked very well for me....

we are talkin bout video formats not workin in movie maker, not some virus that we downloaded. besides don’t talk to us like we are dumb, u aren’t the only one who knows a thing or two about computers (actually judging from ur answer, u only think u do) besides everyone doesnt have the exact same computer as u, when u choose system restore, u have to have set a restore point earlier on, otherwise it doesnt work!
anyway, aside from this idiot (bob), I downloaded RAD tools to convert my .mov files to .avi, but whenever I click convert, it converts for like 5 sec then says its done. when I click on the converted file, only the first few seconds are converted (i have the full version of rad tools). can nee1 help? besides bob
