To bob 2: You know, there’s no error on the computers that are trying to find the codec. It simply means this: the codec isn’t on the computer. Even if we all do a system restore, it’s not going to help. Why? Because we don’t have the codec. Go lick a nine volt.

Hey guys, I’ve been trying for ages to get my flash files onto WMM. They’re FLA- I downloaded the Codecs and they still won’t work. -.- I’ve also tried converting them to AVI but they lose their sound and quality is crap.

Quicktime doesn’t support FLA which REALLY ticks me off, I can’t use Adobe Flash since trials are down- SOMEBODY HELP MEEEE!

WMM JUST KEEPS CLOSING ON ME, NO WARNING, NO NOTHING, JUST VANISHES. IT’S BEEN DOING IT FOR A WHILE, SO I DON’T WANT TO SYSTEM RESTORE BECAUSE I’VE INSTALLED QUITE A BIT SINCE IT STARTED.

HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND A SIMPLE SOLUTION?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

kinda did it today so can’t pick a prev. date...want it done, was ok, then I saved it and now the WMM won’t oen it says The file C:\Users\Thompson\Videos\Travis’s trip.MSWMM cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again...if I created it today and it got messed up today how can it restore it to before it got messed up?

Movie Maker doesn’t support FLAs (.fla) because they aren’t video files, they’re Flash program/working files, unique to that animation program. You’ll have to publish the .fla in the Flash program to make it a Shockwave file (.swf) in order to do anything with the file’s content. I doubt Movie Maker supports .swf files, if you were to try and import it into that program. You can try to convert the .swf to a video file but that may not work or it may kill the quality.

My Movie Maker program worked perfectly up until late 2006. Since then, for whatever reason, I haven’t been able to Save a movie. I can’t even Save a “movie” that only has one title and no video scenes. I’ve tried every proposed solution over the last two years with no success.

The only workaround that has allowed me to Save some of my movies has been to use Movie Maker at a local college library. When I work on my videos at home, I have all the files stored in a folder on my C: drive. Then, when I want to Save the movie, I load the folder onto a Flash drive (or drives), head to the college library, and drop the folder on the C: drive of a computer in the lab. Most of the time, the movie will Save with no problem.

It’s not a solution, but if you really want to Save your movie and can’t on your MM program at home, try using the feature on a MM version that’s loaded on a library (public or college) computer.

omg dont system restore for no reason...

search media coder in google and download it.

it basicly can change any format you video, music, picture, ect... into another format.

all you have to do then is find out which format will work.

gah people these days... system restore...
