InuAi Guest | I am also having the same problem and I have tried your method, Bob 2. Unfortunately, I had my computer formatted not too long ago and restoring doesn’t do anything. >< Any suggestions?

Sudbey Guest | Just to let you all know, in case you haven’t noticed, it’s cause of the format of the video you’re using, I have the same error and my Windows Movie Maker apparently didn’t come with the codec installed for.AVI

just managed to fix it on mine . make sure the movie will play (or if not go download ffshow this should sort out most things) then go in to movie maker. click tools/options. go to the last tab and make sure that all of the codecs have a tick by them. now try importing the file again hope this works
thanks gregg. it worked YAY. btw to anyone who ignored or didnt read this; it works!
i also have the same problem
first i converted it from a MOV file to .AVI file
and then i tried importing to WMM and this comes up
IMGP0311.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
i have windows movie maker 2.1 and the last tag thing dont work for me, ive downloaded the XviD codec 1.13 and still doesnt work, ive also tried putting the avi file into gspot and i heard your meant to render it but i cant find a render button, anyone can help?
