NimbleBlood Guest | GUYZ! I HAVE YOUR ANSWER!!Ok when you see ;
The file C:\.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
click out of windows movie maker 2.0 , and go to Google and Search Free Adobe Flash Player Download.Download it and finish the installation.save an restart your computer.It should work.It’s the easiest of all the ways.DONT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS IDEA PLEASE!Have a nice day! i hope this works for you guys

Dae Guest | Well Bob, Maybe you didin’t notice, but some people may have done some major changes to their PC before recently using WMM - In short
If they system restored, they could lose all of their valuble, precious, finely configured programs which possibly took a long time to set-up.
Also for all of those, this should be a MICROSOFT ISSUE.
Take it up with Microsoft, and they should have it fixed alot faster then this muppet.

DANHO Guest | For those of you having codec probs with movie maker accepting wave sound files: go to cnet downloads and look up “windows Essentials Media Codec Pack 1.0”
.
In my situation, w/ old Nero 6, I installed the Essentials Media Codec Pack and at install I was asked and I ok’ed to remove nero codecs not all the cd burning program.
.
I hope that I was able to help some and that more vids will be produced to be shared
