blue skies and green grass Guest | hey guys... i have the same problem, but the thing is not a .avi file, it’s a .wmv file and it is driving me NUTS!
I tried almost all the tips you gave, downloaded a new windows media player, check the capability thing, downloaded countless codecs mentioned and i did the system restore and none of them worked. i just hope a solution will pop up soon, thx

Persona World Guest | bob are u a dickhead bruv??? it says no codec.... who the fuck said this happens by a problem? installing something dosent fuck up the movie maker’s codec. ur a prick system restore is if something has gone terribly wrong. eg: u damage something in your computer, which u probably have not got a clue!!! > first u dnt go to system restore if just the movie maker dosent work, how about for people who try to use it for first time, and then u use system restore.. restore to which day huh u dickface? which day u think this has happened? exactly u dnt know so stop giving bull shit information. people trying to play or change the things from mpg4 and thats why the codec is needed people can play the video on quick time apple. i will let everyone know asap i find the codec for it. DO NOT! listen to that idiot who thinks he knows about computers, he know totally shit.

just managed to fix it on mine . make sure the movie will play (or if not go download ffshow this should sort out most things) then go in to movie maker. click tools/options. go to the last tab and make sure that all of the codecs have a tick by them. now try importing the file again hope this works
LOL Gregg’s right, how stupid of WMM, hmm yeah, just click that thing in options...

Romy Guest | Look for codecs on the internet, DivX-codecs, K-Lite, Xvid.
There are lots of them you can try by just downloading them, if they wont work delete them and try another. Otherwise I dont know either.
