i’ve got a camcorder and i ripped this vide of off it (my camcorder plays the MINI-DVD’s) wen i ripped it it was ".dvd” file. is there a .dvd codec?

I have no idea what a .dvd file is. You might try and rename it to .avi and see if you can play it, or rename it to .mpg. If you still cannot play it then try, while it’s still ending in .avi, to open it with GSpot listed here:
