strutter2 Guest | the DVD (a movie) was copied on my PC, they work fine on my stand-alone DVD player and on my PC DVD player. When i try and play them on my 17” Powerbook they dont play at all. Although the original DVD movie plays fine on the Powerbook?!
I have also tried playing it on the G4 macs at work and i get the same error. The error actually reads “NOT PERMITTED” when opened in the standard DVD Player software.
Having tried it on several Macs with different specs i have come up with the following:
It works on:
G4 (without superdrive) running on OS9
Wont work on:
G4 (with superdrive) running OSX
G4 (Without superdrive) running OSX
Powerbook 17” running OSX
obviously, looking at the above it looks like something either to do with OSX or the DVD player software on OSX. But the original DVD will play on all of teh above, just onto the copied software. It has been copied onto quality media, so that shouldn’t be a problem (i dont think).
Any ideas anyone? Any software players available that will play anything? or any tweaks that i need to do to stop it being so stubborn?
Thanks
