any time you see ccd that mean its was made by cloneCD, the company nolonger makes this program (afaik) but you can find it all over the place like kazza and bear, and what ever else you use to DL. I suggest useing daemon tools though... any time you have problem and want to make sure the files are good try it with daemon. it does almost EVERYTHING... IMG, CUE/bin, ISO, CCD, ect ect.

what teh fook glare, i think it worked...

1.you have your files. put them in one directory(don’t separate them!)
2. go to the url numediaweb posted
http://www.slysoft.com/download/SetupCloneCD.exe
3.After you’ve downloaded the file, install Clone CD on your computer.
4.ccd files must be opened with clone cd so ...
open clone cd and select “Write from image file...“

5.browse to the desired folder and select the ccd file ...
6.click next, and select your prefferences. I selected a low speed, and the Game cd option
7.burn the cd

I’m not sure, did I have to make it a game cd? anyway, if I’m wrong, I hope someone will correct me. I’m a n00b at this too, so i guess it’s ok for me to make a few mistakes

I recently downloaded Tales of Destiny 2. It came as a winRAR archive, but I’ve extracted it. It contained a .ccd file, a .cue file, a .img file, and a .sub file. Is there any way to play the game without burning the files to a CD?

Hi
I just sussed out that if you download a file expecting it to be a iso(dvd) file and it turns out to be an .img after unzipping with winrar, you should go to tools, folder options, view, then check the box that says show all extentions, then when you go back to the .img file rename with a .iso on the end, it says it may make the file unusable but ignore that, then use clone CD to write it to disc, hey presto.

I downloaded a game and after extracting the files with winrar, I gota CD1 iso, a CD2 iso and then I got a .ccd, .sub, and .img file. I used alcol 120% to mount them on to a virtual drive, but when it opens up it’s just a folder, there is no install file or setup or anything. How do I actually install and play the game?

Ok I have read the entire topic. So, I will try to address all the concerns. First, you need the program MagicISO. About the ccd, sub, (maybe cue), and img files...
-ccd files are the files to focus on, since you can say that they tell how the information stored in the img file should be interpreted.
-sub files are of no concern. They are there for copy protection basically. You DO NOT need to bother with them usually.
-cue files are similar to ccd files - they also tell how the information stored in the img file should be interpreted.
-img files are just files that store the cd information. DO NOT bother with them.
Ok now place all the ccd, sub, (maybe cue), and img files in one folder. Then, launch the MagicISO program and open the cue files (sorry but I dont think it supports the ccd files). You will see session 1, 2, etc. Click on one session and then click “OK." Then, you go to “file” then “save as” and save it elsewhere with any name and it will save as an ISO file.
NOTE - CONCERNING the people with only ccd, sub, and img files, go to slysoft.com and download the trial of CloneCD. Then click “write from image file." Select the ccd file and it will burn the cd for you.
WARNING - I just figured this out after I downloaded FFVIII and I am not positive about the end results. Proceed with caution.

Ok sorry for not starting a new thread....but i cant find another one as close as this to my issue....

Heres what I have

program isos part1.rar - contains:
CD1.sub
CD2.sub
CD3.sub
CD4.sub
CD5.sub
CD6.sub
CD1.ccd
CD2.ccd
CD3.ccd
CD4.ccd
CD5.ccd
CD6.ccd
CD1.img
CD2.img
CD3.img
CD4.img
CD5.img
CD6.img

program isos part2.rar - contains;
CD1.sub
CD2.sub
CD3.sub
CD4.sub
CD5.sub
CD6.sub
CD3.img
CD4.img
CD5.img
CD6.img

program isos part3.rar - contains;
CD4.img
CD5.img
CD6.img
CD1.sub
CD2.sub
CD3.sub
CD4.sub
CD5.sub
CD6.sub

program isos part4.rar - contains;
CD6.img
CD1.sub
CD2.sub
CD3.sub
CD4.sub
CD5.sub
CD6.sub

program isos part5.rar - contains;
CD1.sub
CD2.sub
CD3.sub
CD4.sub
CD5.sub
CD6.sub

I already tried burning 6 separate cds based on the contents of part1.rar, as a test - cd1 works (or so it seems) but the others dont.....and I know all the other files need to be incorporated somewhere for the 6cd installation to work, but how do I know which .img or .sub files to use? If I rename them and group them by CD, surely somewhere the coding will get confused by the different names? or should I try doing it that way?

Cheers

Hi Guys

I downloaded an application with ccd, img and sub files and used Ultra Iso to extract the files. At that stage you could burn them if you wanted or keep them extracted.

it is easier than using kazaa or sth like that. just go to:

http://www.slysoft.com/download/SetupCloneCD.exe

somebody else already wrote that above.
and if you have IMG SUB and CCD USE THE LINK TO D/L THAT PROG AND JUST BURN IT KERMIT !!!!!

if anyone isn’t able to do this, he should really do a windows workshop.

peace folks.

erm, yea I already posted about that....if you read the end of my post.

heres what i did in more detail:
I have cd clone and I used it to burn the cds....but I ONLY used the files from 'part one', (as listed in my previous post)cause as you can see all the files are named by CD and there are many files named the same thing....which means that you cant just open them all to the same location and then burn them you have to either open them to different locations or rename them, and then which ones do you use? There are at least 5 files named CD1.sub or CD1.img or CD1.ccd - sooooooo

I tried the files in part one, cd 1 works...but the others don’t I obviously have to make a choice from all the many files or find a way to merge them.....

USUALLY WHEN PEOPLE GET FILES LIKE THIS THEY WILL HAVE A TOTAL OF 3. 1 SUB 1 IMG AND 1 CCD. IN WHICH CASE BURNING IN CDCLONE IS VERY EASY!!! OBVIOUSLY!!! BUT AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE MANY MANY MANY MANY FILES.....

if you have any suggestions on how to pick and choose which files to burn with or which to discard then please let me know (other than whats already been suggested, which I have tried)

This is all quite straightforward if you intend to burn to a disc.
My question however, is is it possible to play the game (operate the .cue .ccd .img and .sub files) , without burning to a cd?

Hi abcdefghi

If you use UltraIso or Magic ISO or any similar programs you extract all the installation files from the (bin and cue) or (ccd img & sub) files that you would then install in the usual way.

In the application that I had the other day I did not bother to burn it as a CD - just installed it from the extracted files.

Cheers

here is my problem, i downloaded a game and it came with 4 files, .ccd .cue .img .sub
i used nero burning rom to burn the image from the cue file, but it came up with an error, it said 'error occored while loading cue sheet file' and then listed the directory then said '(line 1).

so i tried cd clone with the .ccd file.
it said '(filename).sub did not match (filename).img'

any ideas?

so far all I’ve seen is suggestions for uncompressing these files (.ccd etc) in windows. I don’t own a copy of windows and refuse to uncompress any windows type files or archives on my winblowsPC at work for fear of viruses.

Can anyone recommend a linux-based solution? I only use linux at home and I use a linux powered laptop as my primary computer for work (the only reason I have a winblows pc at the office is because we use Lotus Notes for our groupware suite - stupid waste o' money management decision)
