As I recall, you need a VCD adapter for your Playstation. There are two types depending on the make of your Playstation console:
1. External adapter - you plug it into the back of a 1st generation PS and then load a VCD at the menu
2. Internal adapter - if your Playstation is the newer, svelte PSOne, you have to install the adapter onto the system’s circuit board. Some soldering is required.

The way to unselect the “Make VideoCD Compliant” option is to:
1. Select Nero Burning Rom from your StartSmart.
2. On the left you should see icons for projects.
3. Select VideoCD. You should then have a box that pops up. It will have an option “Make VideoCD Compliant” that you need to uncheck for KVCD to burn properly.
4. You then add your mpeg file to the project and burn it. That’s it!
If anyone downloaded a KVCD (or VCD for that matter) to burn onto a DVD, then they wasted their time. Download a DivX/XviD .avi file to convert to DVD. KVCDs were made to fit onto ONE CD-R disc and are meant to be viewed from a DVD standalone, NOT your PC.

Here’s how to burn it with Nero...
It’s best that you use the Copy and Backup section from Nero Express or Start Smart.
Use the Burn Image option and point the program to the cue file and it should burn easily.
If it does not burn you may need to check the cue file in Notepad to ensure the first line has
only the filename of the bin between the quotation marks. This is a common error in cue files.
By removing the path ( for example - C:\Movies ) and leaving only the filename, you should have no problems.
Happy burning.

insanefrank Guest | use nero and click burn cd image
then brun the cue file
u may think that it didnt put the bin in, but it will do. i made that mystake the first time. but dont worrie it works
once you brunt it, just open up the cd and find a file, cant remebr what its called
there sould only be 2 files on the cd and loads of folders, just open them and one of them should play#
but heres a tip, yuse windows media player as if you use anything eklse then it will turn off after 18 minutes of playing whih gets very annoying when trying tio watch a dvd
ok

mickonabike Guest | try downloading isobuster, its free on the web, once you have it installed on yer commyopen the program and then click on the file tab at the top, then to open image file, browse to where you have saved the bin file, then open the file, once that is done click the MPEGAV folder, right click on the avse file in the right hand pane then click on the, extract but filter only M2F2 mpeg frames, and save that to a folder on your computer (remember where you are saving it) once you have done all that you will have a playable avi file, you can then convert that using win avi or dvd santa to a dvd, which you can then burn to disc using nero
njoy

1992iswak Guest | If you really want to watch it on your PC, you can download VLC Media Player at videolan.org.
This media player will allow you to watch the movie while still in bin file format. Just select open file
and then select your bin file. NOTE: KVCD’s are not intended to be watched on your PC. So, if you choose this option,
the quality of the movie will more than likely be poor.

djjassen Guest | To all those who are wanting to watch KVCDs on their pcs. They were not designed for this. They look like crap. If you want to watch them on your pc only, download the divx rather.
For those who are adamant they want to watch on their pcs, VLC Player plays bin files without mounting the image. Just drag it onto VLC or open with.
FOr thos of you who have Nero loaded, Nero Showtime also plays bin without mounting and gives more controls than VLC.
But again KVCD was not designed to be viewed on pcs.

dw817 Guest | Hello:
* Bit of a late reply,
I have found that you get considerably higher quality with DVD. Yes, that is obvious isn’t it.
But don’t laugh. KVCD really is much poorer.
You can put 2 very high quality 2-hour videos on a DVD if you compress them correctly.
I leave the world of KVCD and approach compressable DVDs and seek to put 8 or more 1-hour episodes at 720x480 30-fps of Star Trek and other series of interest onto a single compressed DVD that plays freely in all DVD players.
Tools required:
TMPGENC DVD Author (commercial)
TMPGENC DVD Source Creator (commercial)
DVDShrink (Freeware)
Disc Juggler (commercial)
Sincerely,
David

dw817 Guest | Good morning:
* Not all DVD Players will play KVCD content.
In fact, the ones you are looking for should be able to play Mp3s and audio CDs in addition to regular DVDs. That’s the tip-off.
Further I have found that R+ DVDs are quite a bit different from prior blank DVDs of yesteryear.
Not all DVD players will play R+ DVDs.
Check carefully .. I managed to get a great DVD player for $20 that plays both KVCD and R+ DVDs in addition to Mp3s, Audio CDs, and regular DVDs.
Note that VCD ability is being rapidly pulled OUT of new DVD players so the player you have that plays VCDs will have to be an older model.
One recommendation is that you blur the picture of your movie if it is more than an hour long.
You really don’t want more than 4-hours which works out to 240 minutes so from a scale of 0% (no-blur) for a 1-hour movie to 100% (max blur) for a 4-hour compilation.
Sincerely,
dw817
