Broadcast Live Videos with a DV Camera

Hello,
I have the task to serve an Internet live video broadcast from a computer in LAN.
There is an Internet connection through router and few computers in LAN sharing same Internet connection common external IP.
I would like to broadcast video live from one of those computers since there is no server.
My question is: will that IP work and what software is best to use for this?

I know very little about streaming video over a network. As far as freeware streaming solutions, I’d suggest giving VideoLan a peek. You may have to wade through the documentation though.
