I have tried many solutions to fix it

1)I have tried to update the boot.ini
2)I have reinstall the codec
3)I have check the viruses.

but nothing has solved the problem.

My first step would be to check if you have bad memory (especially if the crash repeats at the exact same address). Go to http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp and click on “Download Windows Memory Diagnostic” and download and install it. It’s the same program as the one bundled with Windows Vista. It’ll be in your start menu and when you run it, it’ll restart the computer and scan your memory.

At first I was surprised why you’d need to modify boot.ini, but reading around I realized you were trying to disable DEP (data execution prevention).

A lot of the posts deal with explorer. What I’m wondering is what codec the AVI(s) that crash use (or if they all crash). If you’re not sure use gspot or avicodec to find out. Also look in event viewer if states what module causes the crash (sometimes it’ll list a dll). If you can identify it you could try uninstalling it.

P.S: Why are you trying to play an AVI in IE7? Why not in WMP?

I really have trouble understanding what you’re saying.
What does the .cab file have to do with anything? Is it supposed to be a codec you downloaded? What is it or where from? Could it be malware? I know Windows Media Player will automatically download codecs in .cab format from the microsoft server if they find that’s the codec that is missing to play the specific file, but I’m unsure if that’s what you’re talking about from your description.
I’ll ask again. Do the files that crash follow a specific pattern? Do they use the same codec? Use gspot or avicodec to find out. Also does the event viewer reveal any information about the module(s) that cause the crash?

I don’t understand this at all. You have to explain what cab file you’re working with and what “website” you’re talking about.

Is it wmv or avi files that cause the crash?
Why are you using Internet Explorer to play an avi?

Did you do any of this?

Did you find out what the specs of the file that crash are?

and post the information of the files that crash here

Did you run the event viewer? (click start, run, then type eventvwr.msc) In the application and system logs, when you double click the event for the crash, what is the detailed message?

If you don’t answer any of this I’ll lock the thread.

I have the same problem , i changed the memorysticks , bought new RAM , updated IE some pages , with many ActiveX controls ( sometimes even gmail) are constantly crushing my IE .. with the same error " the memory could not be written” .
Interesting is that if i dont close the error dialog box , i can use the IE further , without problems , if i hit OK or CANCEL IE closes , and need to restart
