WHEEL42 Guest | Hi, I’m to new to all the video editing stuff, but I have a problem. I lost my hard drive and am trying to get back files. I have a load of home movies(on a second drive)and they wont play.
Tried a program Videonspector and it says i need ASUS ASV2 codec but I cant find it and don,t know what to do with it when I get it. I was hoping it could be put on your website (or a web address given) and someone could give me a few tips on what to do with it.
Thanks | |

http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/beta/vga/asvd200.zip
If the link dies, you can change the dlsvr01.asus.com with 02 03 04 or 05 (they have multiple servers across the globe.)
The version of the codec on there is 2.0.0.1. You’d think by now they’d have finalized it instead of leaving it in beta!
P.S: fourcc.org used to have the correct link ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/asuscom/treiber/vga/ASUS_VGA_TOOLS/asv2dec.zip but asus reorganized their site so the link is dead. That version was 2.0.0.5 beta. You can find it by searching for asv2dec.zip. It’s hosted on many other codec web sites.

What exactly did you do? What was the exact error message?
If you’re getting http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/beta/vga/asvd200.zip you have to unzip it first, then run SetupASV.
