(For example you’d have to get the divx or indeo 5 codecs manually, and some like wmv9 (for avi) just don’t exist for the mac platform). You could try videolan for broader coverage, and if you have mac os x, you can try mplayer for mac os x. mplayer handles an amazing range of video formats.
