Missing codec files?

Hi

Using GSpot 2.52 I can get a list of codecs and filters through the system/list codecs and other filters menu option. There are a lot of entries there marked as problems, each one says missing file. Now, I’m assuming because there’s registry entries alongside each of these entries that these refer to codecs that I have installed but are not functioning correctly (rather than just a list of all available codecs or something, there doesn’t seem to be any detailed documentation for GSpot, even on the developer’s website). This would make sense, as certain wave files and videos that worked fine before now no longer work.

So my question is, what would be the best way to go about replacing the missing files? I did have the ACE mega codecs pack installed but had to remove it because it was preventing my DVD player software from working, so this may be the cause, however I don’t want to install the same codec pack again if it’s going to stop me watching DVDs.

Thanks

Dan
