i tried to open a movie clip with divx player. the divx player gave me an error saying

video data: FOURCC: “0”

what do i need to play this file.

that file is a fake.

Any movie with fourcc code = 0 is a fake. The zero means that there is no codec; probably no real data either. Your AVI file is just an empty rapper.
