How can I watch this? I can’t find a codec for this anywhere.

This is actually just divx format. They used video with this fourcc code in the video for the lord of the rings 3 game, and I wanted to watch it, so I simply Hex Edited the video files
you change the top two “dxgm” to divx and then save, and you’re set, using Ultraedit or another hex editor (don’t try that in notepad :P )

These are videos without sound - the sound is in the game. Only way to watch this videos with the sound is playing the game

Or you can ofcourse get the latest DivX codec bundle.

hey guys i’m trying to play sone vids from the homewold 2 but can’t i’ve downloaded every codec out their but it gives me an error saying it wants a fourcc dxgm codec. from what i understand BRIAN its as easy as hex editing? now for us newbies could you fill us in on how to hex edit.
do you need a program? a special codec? programing? what? please respond i have no clue what your talking about.

i changed the avi’s in the movies n in the special directory like u advised but it doesn’t load anymore.
It’s sends out an error like:
Mockout files [\data\movies\bl..flk.vid

What can i do?

OK i simply use the AVI FourCC Code Changer from DXGM to DIVX, it worked, but where can i find the lates Codecs cuz i have no sound in the movie.... Thanks!

The Lord Of The Rings modified movie of the game not have sound because the original file doesen´t have sound, the sound maybe is in other´s file of the game. tanks

LotR and HW2 both use the same method of playing the igame movies, the video and the sound are stored seprate from each other, there are some site were you can download the movies that people have merged the sound and vid together

hi, lotr moviesamples have an audiostream, i think.

and it said that it has codec 20041

Use a hex editor and change the dxgm into dx50 then play it if you have the latest version of the divx codecs it should work. But make a note of this the code dxgm appears twice in the file header change only the first one use hexplorer if you dont have a hex editor.

Just wanted to saw thanks and that this method works with Armed and Dangerous. I was curious to see if watching the movies of Armed and Dangerous was possible. And eventually I ended up here. Thanks again.

i used this to all armed and dangerous videos and worked perfect
