I’m having trouble downloading this codec. These two sites have it

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/download.asp?url=/2846/eng/codinstl.exe&ProductID=355

http://www.updatexp.com/codec-iv50.html

But when I go to install the exe, it doesn’t. It just stops and the videos I need don’t work. Does anyone know where I can get it?

The Intel link should have worked, unless the download was interrupted or you have Windows XP SP2 (SP2 sometimes seems to have problems running 16-bit apps - posts related to that have been popping up on the board recently - see this article http://www.talkaboutsoftware.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin/messages/142096.html). Perhaps a 32-bit installer might give you more luck

If the file still won’t play chances are it’s truncated or otherwise corrupt. In that case give avipreview or Media Player Classic a try.

Hmmm... IV50, FFDSHOW, and the latest DIVX codecs should be more than enough. Perhaps you could stop using the pathetic WMP? Try RealPlayer instead, and if you want the best player out there, get VCL Media Player!

GSPOT, tells you which codecs, both audio/video are required to play some files, perhaps using it and then searching for the proper codec(s) would be the best thing to do.

HAHAHAHAHAH! You’re a retard. RealPlayer is good if you like your computer being — — - with — — codec licensing. dumbass.
