I got a digital camera that records video in .ASF format. I had this video which was great and I really wanted to upload to Youtube. Cut/paste the video from the camera to my pc... (Vista 32bit) .. and then opened it in Media Player first to watch it (video and sound were all ok!)
I noticed some parts I wanted to get out and stuff so required a program to edit.
Now luckely... tatatadam.. I have Adobe Premiere CS3 bundled with my PC (Vaio). Opened it there but it said it had no codec for the file.
But here comes the part that really pissed me off.. I could no longer open the file anymore (not even in media player). When I looked at properties, it showed the file had been 'modified' by Adobe just by opening it! So it screwed up the file :\. All players now complain they are missing a codec called Microsoft ADPCM Format (2).
I have no idea whether this codec is already installed but since it worked before I 'opened' it in Premiere I think it is. Now can somebody please help me on this.. I really need to recover the video cos its awesome.. it really pissed me off lol. Someone told me I should have copied the file first to my pc before opening it.. but who would ever knew something like this would happen?
Thanks
