Gerry Guest | You can also use “Total Video Converter” which can convert .mkv Files to .avi The quality of the Video is very good with only a small degrade in framerate. you can get the Prog by doing a search on the Warez sites.

DaisyDuke Guest | I just used VSO ConvertXtoDVD and it worked like a charm. I just put in the .MKV file and clicked on convert and popped a dvd into the burner and it did it all. When it was done it played perfectly in my dvd player.

I was wanting to burn an .MKV file to a dvd, BUT in DVD FORMAT.
I have the WinAvi, and DVD Shrink Already, as well as NERO.
How would I be able to convert, so I could easily play on a DVD Player, such as converting it to an dvd image, but then not.
Sorry if you don t fully understand. Any help would be appreciated.

F1insight Guest | After readind this topic (almost every quote!!!) I found out how to convert mkv 2 DVD and I tried it with ConvertXtoDVD. The result: It worked! I had multiple audio streams and I could use subs! The problem now: the mkv file I wanted to encode also had multiple video streams, but only the first video stream encoded.. Does anybody knows how to have all the video streams included..?

I was just curious,(being said to either you, or anybody else),would I have to add an extra step, for this to follow through, such as having to convert my .MKV file, to AVI, then to an “image” file?
Hopefully there s someone with knowledge of this conversion, as I am green at this sorta thing.

i care about downloading files for hours only to find out they are not ISO of a REAL DVD but rather they are a
U S E L E S S piece of file which is NOT the DVD i wanted and is UTTERLY useless for even playing because to actually use i i have to convert it to some R E A L video format.
in short - when your so called COMPRESSED format is of ANY whatsoever USE for ANYONE, i will consider it more then just a fiction and a TOTAL waste of my bandwidth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- load the MKV file in mmg.exe (mkvtoolnix) again, untick the remaining AAC audio track, and 'add' the new Stereo MP3 file. Mux a new MKV with the MP3 audio instead of the AAC audio
- retry DVDSanta

P.S. Alternatively you could also make sure that ffdshow_audio is doing the decoding on DirectShow for all AAC tracks, as DVD Santa is using DirectShow to read the MKV file, and enable 5.1 to 2.0 (Stereo) downmixing in the ffdshow settings, for all 5.1 audio tracks

Dohh another idiot who doesnt understand why people use the MKV format. The film is Probably a ripped HD movie you plank, designed to be played at 720 or 1080 on a hd plasma/lcd tv (try get that quality from a dvd) why would you want to get it into a dvd burning state ? you can burn an mkv to a dvd with no problem whatsoever its as simple as drag and drop. If what u mean is to a VIDEO_TS folder in vobs and bups to be compatable on a stand alone dvd player, then I sudgest you download it in that format to begin with numpty

and yet another who is obviously still using KazAA to download LoL, try using newsgroups and read the nfo’s before downloading (just google newsgroups) you dont need to convert to any thing if you use the correct codec and player ( google MPC and CoreAVC) please dont slag of what you dont understand
I play all MKV’s on my 52 inch plasma with no trouble at all, just google it and you wil find out how
