I used WinAvi to try to convert my AVI files from my digital camera. I only tried one video and after it said the conversion was finished, I am confused why there is 5 files associated with it. I thought after the conversion, it would remain as ONE file. Why are there 5? (the five end with bup, ifo, bup, another ifo and a vob). I only tried to convert ONE avi file!? How do I know what to select for burning this video onto dvd? I’m at a loss as to what to do.

When converting an AVI file to the DVD format using WinAVI it will create files based on the DVD format standard, this ensures that it will play on most standalone DVD players. WinAVI has correctly created the VOB’s, BUP’S and IFO files the DVD needs to be playable. All you need to do is download a sutible burning program (Nero is one: http://www.ahead.de/) and burn all the files to a blank DVD as a DVD MOVIE using your DVD burner.
