Very simple #1) I have some old 8mm film which someone put on a dvd for me set to music. I tried to copy it to my computer but I am going crazy trying to figure it out. It’s all in a TS folder, audio & video. What do I do? #2) How can I upload it to youtube? It’s runtime is under 5 minutes.

Let me guess,

the audio_ts folder is empty and the video_ts folder is the only folder that contains files.

You need a program to rip the DVD to your PC.

Try Avi2DVD, it converts the opposite way as well.

http://depositfiles.com/en/files/1111449

open the program, see the selection above (Open AVI, WMV, etc)?

Change it from AVI to DVD.

Then, click the modified button which says (Open ifo).

Then, go to and select the first .ifo file on the disc.

Then, select Add to list, and then GO when you’re ready to convert.

I think the process would be the same as for DVD ripping. If the file structure is very simple, you should be able to copy the VOB file in your VIDEO_TS folder to your desktop, rename the extension to MPG and upload it to youtube without problem.
If (for whatever reason) the DVD is encrypted, or if method 1 doesn’t work, just use smartripper 2.41
