first remove from add remove programs the codecs installations

if you cant find them there go to

just remove what ever you need from the list

Thanks bbbbbbbbb, your solution was the simplest and it worked great. And it didn’t involve letting nimo anywhere near my little laptop (like I’m going to let that thing back on when it caused my whole green screen monster problem in the first place...)

Go to settings then advanced button in display properties, then go to troubleshoot, turn down the hardware acceleration until you can view the video without the green screen. When you’ve finished watching the video turn it back up again.

DeInstall all your Codecs — > Restart — > Download that: “http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm” — > Install it — > should solve your Problem

I tried Temux’s instructions with no success. I then tried FrightfoO’s instructions and at first nothing changed - I was still getting the green screen until I upped the Direct Show priority in the 3ivx Configuration panel. I also made sure it was set to Decode Divx 3,4,5 and XviD.

I have XP, came with XP2. I am having 2 problems, one with the green screen, and also my java windows are full of colorful snow. Sometimes I can click on them and it clears, but moving the up/down makes it snowy again.

I downloaded ffdshow, but did not clear the codecs first. I will try again. In system/device mgr/sound&video controllers/video codecs it has about 8 files, mostly dll and Indeo video. Are you sure nothing bad will happen if I remove them all and only install ffdshow? Are any other programs dependent on these other codecs?

Any suggestion on the java snow problem? Thanks

yes I had the same problem....fixed it

Movie screen was green and streaming was green too

Open the Windows Media Player....go to Options....click performance.......and reduce the video acceleration....

I reduced to the minimum then it worked for me

problem solved I hope..... smiley

GUYS this works smiley smiley smiley smiley
guys I found in a microsoft support from the official site..... that to update the video cards' drivers and reduce acceleration...the way I mentioned in the earlier post.... just do this and it will work

there is no problem with the codecs.... it’s just video acceleration after the new live update of the media player is too high.... so reduce the acceleration

Ok again I tell you how to do it....

open Windows Media Player..... click tools..... then “options” under tools....click performance....you will see video acceleration somewhere down..... reduce the settings from full.... it should work now.....

check you might have to lower it a lot....one of my old cards needs it to be lowered a lot.

I am sure this will work smiley smiley smiley

also you can do it by going advanced and just unchecking overlays under “Video acceleration"
