Bobd Guest | I have a problem that a DVD is stuck in the player. Does anyone know how to release it without using force?

carrot Guest | Look near the drive door. Usually right underneath CD/DVD-ROM’s drive doors there’s a tiny hole. When the drive door gets stuck (or it’s closed and you can’t power it up), you can insert a paperclip into the hole to open the drive door. I don’t know whether standalone DVD players have such holes. Sometimes they’re in the back of the drive. If you’re unsure, look in the manual that came with your drive. It’s usually under the troubleshooting section. Your specific model may have other mechanisms to open a stuck drive door.
