Hi,

i own a Terratec USB Cynergy Hybrid XS USB DVB-T Device and i run it on my XP (Fully Patched) System. Yesterday i downloaded K-Lite Codec Pack to get FDD Show Filters to use them with my Card but i always run into a BSOD. After a Live Kernel Debugging i found out, that one of the Codecs is violating Kernel Memory and so my system always goes BSOD. The vialoation, or better to say the violator is hard to find without symbols and it was not that clear which part of the codec packs filter/codec/devicedriver made the access violation in kernel memory, but it is a part of the codec pack. It made every mpeg stream (TVCard, File, etc, played from Media Player/Classic VLC, etc) go BSOD. Then i tried to use another CodecPack and decided to use the XP Codec pack, where the drivers/filters work fine. But i cant use the FDD Show on the Terratec Home Cinema Software. The Software starts with thousands of lines of debugging information outputted from OutputDebugString and then the UI locks and does not display anything. UI then starts to respond again, but does not display anything. The Terratec Software does only run with AC3 Filter (for Audio) but no FDD Audio, and FDD Video makes the UI Hang. So what could this be?

I donnt know if this is the right place here to ask, but how can i make this work, i mean how can i make my FDD Show Filters work with the Terratec Home Cinema Software?

Regards

Ken

I rant endlessly about codec packs because they make it so hard to pinpoint what goes wrong, and sometimes they don’t even cleanup after themselves after uninstall.
If you need ffdshow get its latest incarnation ffdshow-tryouts here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout

For more info on debugging you should ask at doom9.org
