ecouteuse Guest | I’ve downloaded Windows Meida 10 and have made sure that the .avi files were checked when it asked what kind of files I wanted to view. However, it keeps playing the audio only. What else can I do to play an .avi file? Thanks.

Regular Rep: 5 Joined: 20 Nov 2004 Posts: 1,266 | You’re probably missing the video codec for it. To find out which video codec you need, run one of the tools listed on this page and find out what the fourcc is.

No, you can’t play .avi files with QuickTime. You can use Media Player Classic or VLC/VideoLan to play these files. They’re your best options.
