Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 26 Jan 2008 Posts: 2 OFFLINE | I have several RMVB videos I am trying to convert to MP4.
When I checked to what they are encoded in using Xilisoft Video Converter, it tells me they are in encoded in RM40.
I have RealPlayer installed (the newest version), and when I try to convert it, the outcome is mixed depending on the program I use.
Xilisoft will not convert them at all, It will try to, then 10 min later it says “fail”.
Free Video to Ipod Converter gives me a long error with lots of zeros.
AVS MP4 Video Converter flat out crashes when I try to load the video, but if I one of the others I have it will convert without the sound.
and Jodix MP4 Video Converter will convert it but won’t carry over any sound.
I should mention that Xilisoft Video Converter USED to work with a few of the videos, but now it doesnt work with any.
Also, I reformatted my computer restoring my computer to factory status, intalling the same programs stated above, and still, exact same problem.
I do not have any program that can tell me the audio codec, and I am not sure that the problem I am experiencing is even codec related.
If I am doing something wrong could someone please tell me what it is? I have put dozens of hours into trying to find a program that works, and even more testing to find out that it doesnt!
