LCD won't dim or brighten

i have Wilson mp4 digital player 2g with 2” lcd and fw 9.1.52, when i watch amv files they are some times to dark and i can’t see them. i went into sys setup to adjust the brightness of the lcd but it doesn’t brighten or dim. is there a fw upgrade that may fix this or even a downgrade. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanx
