Annoyed at HDMI2 Guest | THERE IS NO CODEC!
I got the “message” as well when I DL’d a Torrent version of Cloverfield. I pulled the video apart and can see that this is actually just a 4 minute video of a msg that says: Warning: Unable to process the video please get the correct codec from {blank}. They used huge GIF’s and timing to get the size of the file up to 700+ MB to appear to be a legit movie.
This is not a Windows Media Player or a WIN Message. We all quite literally just wasted time downloading a 4 minute infomercial for this idiots website.
Delete and move on.

WitchGirl Guest | there are several junk avi’s out there most are 699mb to 720mb in size and have ac3 and or dvdrip or dscr in the title all lead to id theft and virus on your computer look for ones that have prevail or Miklo50, shrek diamond on the title they are most likely good more than the others and no virus if there is ever a avi that has a high mb and a quick play speed it is a fake and should be deleted and don’t go to the www page it tels you you could get a java virus

I can only advice people to post name and number off the people that does this kind of shit on the bords.
In case I run over one of them a shiny day.
I really hope that we all can be helpfully with informing about those files / torrents witch are damage (full of shit).
To save time DL wrong files.
Just DL a file myself and I am really pissed.

Burgerman Guest | These movies are in a avi container it is possible to have a split movie .. the only player though thats going to show you the first 'short' movie with the one frame and the url info about the codec in it will be windows media player. I have infact in the past used this method before where someone had distributed the *special codec* with the film (not sure how they got it) of course I scanned the file with virus scanenr s before installing and watching the film aftwards I removed both the film and the codec.
It is scamn of course a method of simply collecting emails .. which might lead to spam and more ... wonder how many people they are getting with this.
My suggestion delete the file and post a notice of this activity on the tracker you downloaded it from. Try and stop the rot.

He is new for me,, and the codec is written on the file name ?!
second,, and it may help before dl
when you click on torrent file to start downloading
there’s a task properties dialog will shown,, take a look into file name, it’s always shows more than file to dl
BUT with this it just ONE file !!

Gul le sournoi Guest | The extension of this file is (.avi). If there is no way to read it with VLC then it means that’s a FAKE. I didn’t check the intel further than the presentation page of the site recomended site but be sure, as said above, if there was realy a codec problem then it would be your video player that would advice you to find the missing codec and not this suspicious pretended movie file.
So to all of you, be careful not to cross the securityline further because there surely isn’t any codec behind this site.
And to all scammers reading this to have a feedback of the rate of untrusting poeple and the threat they mean to your evil projects: I say F*** YOU DEEP IN THE A** WITH SAND AND SALT!!!
