bypassing Administrative privilege

I need help. I am trying to install the divx and other codec onto my fathers work laptop but he doenst have admin priv. id there a way to load the codec’s without having Admin Priv? Thanks.

You probably won’t be able to install system-wide Windows codecs without administrative privileges, because the installers will usually try to access the system32 folder and sections of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the registry.

My suggestion would be to get VLC Media Player from here. It’s an all-in-one player, and it has all its codecs bundled (including all flavors of DivX, and Xvid). I do believe this doesn’t require administrative privileges to install either, which is really neat.
