Videos Appear Very Light

Videos encoded with Divx (locally and stage6 videos) as well as various other codec (basically every movie file I have) are being played looking much whiter than they should (I can post screen shots if you want). If I tried removing codecs and reinstalling but that doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas on what the problem is?

I have Gspot and AVIcodec if you want information from those, but they both say I have the codecs I need.

Usually these kind of errors suggest overlay problems. Check out my post in thread 34844:

Great thanks I got it working.

Heres what I had to do. I went to the Nvidia Control Panel (I’m on an Nvidia card of course). Under “Video & Television” on the left go to “Adjust video color settings”. Then uncheck the box “Apply these settings to all video technologies”.
