Vaicine Guest | Hello Everyone,
I’m having some problems with japanese subtitles. I find that when i load the subtitles i download into vlc or wmp they come out like this: ܾ PWζáÈ¢ñ¾ instead of japanese characters.
I think it’s because the file i’ve downloaded is in ansi rather than unicode.
I’m downloading from http://subscene.com
Anyone know how to fix my problem?

Vaicine Guest | The characters are installed. I can use subtitle files perfectly fine that are in unicode.

“If VLC has autodetected your subtitles file, or if you opened it manually, but VLC only diplays some subtitles from time to time, you will need to change the subtitles file encoding.
Go to Preferences -> Input / Codecs -> Other codecs -> Subtitles, and set Subtitle text encoding to the right one."

Vaicine Guest | ANSI isn’t in that list. I’ve checked that before. It doesn’t make a difference.
