MethyBotos Guest | why can’t we all just get along and use standard ISO format. if you really need to burn a movie thats 120 mins long get a dvd burner cause VCDs are a useless thing of the past.

jayone917 Guest | - .bin / .cue’s are CD-R images. They’re formated to be burned onto standard
700MB CD-R’s or CD-RW’s NOT DVD’s.
What is a KVCD???
- First let me explain “VCD” this means Video-CD, a movie encoded to be burned
to a CD instead of a DVD. KVCD’s are a “hybrid” format, they work at variable
bit rates (unlike standard VCD’s which are a constant bit rate). This allows
an entire movie to be fit on only 1 CD, whereas many VCD’s require 2 CD’s.
The advantage of KVCD’s are that they are 1 tenth the size of standard DVD’s
which mean quicker downloads (and are nice for those that don’t have DVD
burners). Most DVD Players (almost all the newer ones) will support VCD
playback.
What Do I Do with this KVCD .bin / .cue???
- Ok, let me make this straight, KVCD .bin / .cue’s are meant to be burned to a
standard CD-R, NOT for watching on your PC! If you watch the film on your PC
the quality wont be near as good as it would be in your standard DVD Player!!!
If you want to watch the film on your PC then download the original AVI
version!!!
You can download “VLC Player” (google it, it’s free), this will allow you to
play the .bin / .cue on your PC (be sure to load the .cue). I don’t wanna here
any piss about the quality if you’re watching it on your PC!!!
Ok, How Do I Burn the .bin / .cue???
- You will need a program like Nero (I reccomend the latest version of 6, 7
sometimes causes errors) or Alcohol (my favorite).
With Nero:
Right click on the ".cue” and go to open with.
Browse for Nero, if it’s not on the list (locate it in its install directory)
x:/Program Files/Ahead/Nero/Nero.exe
Set the burn speed to around 4x - 8x for BEST and SURE results!
(If prompted to overburn, select YES!)
With Alcohol:
Open Alcohol
Select “image burning wizard”
Browse for the .cue wherever the folder is located.
Burn around 4x - 8x
How to set overburn in Alcohol 120%:
Open Alcohol
Go To “File - Options”
Locate “Recording” on the Options list to the left
Check “Overburn Discs”
(I highly reccomend you do the burning with Alcohol, it’s the best ;-)
If you still have trouble try www.videohelp.com
There are also many forums on torrent sites that will suply
you with all the help you need.
Good Luck and Enjoy the Movie

KVCD absolutely sucks but a lot of people are creating video in that format. To convert a regular .DAT file to AVI, I always used to simply unhide the file extensions in Folder Options -> View tab and then change the extension from DAT to AVI. Always worked but won’t if it is a goofy KVCD.
Anyone know how to successfully convert a KVCD to AVI or MPEG? Nero will not do it, DVD Santa will not do it! I have no interest in burning any vcd format to cdr. CDR’s are more expensive than DVDR’s now because the marketer’s are trying to force CDR off the market. That is why computers usualy come with DVD Burners. CDR technology is obsolete! Even PC Games come on DVD’s now. Who wants to insert the next disc to continue to install when the entire game can be placed on 1 DVD!
Thank you mate. Changing the kvcd dat file from .dat to .avi worked for me.

DvsDmn Guest | “K” Video Compression Dynamics (KVCD) can be converted to the DVD format.
1) Use a program like UltraISO, WinISO, PowerISO... to open the .BIN file,
or mount the “Image” with Alcohol 120% or Daemon’s Tools and “Explore” it.
2) Then extract the AVSEQ01.DAT file, found on the “Image” at VIDEOCD \ MPEGAV \ AVSEQ01.DAT
3) Now change the name to AVSEQ01.MPG (or Name_of_Movie.MPG).
4) You now have a Video file that will play in any Media Player.
5) Next use ConvertXtoDVD or WinAVI to convert and burn the Video file to a DVD disk.

intensityblue Guest | Not interested in watching in kvcd format. Burning to cd is easy, use instructions outlined above to burn with Nero, but I want to convert to avi for storage purposes and so I can watch on my dvd player from a memory key.

intensityblue Guest | All I want is to convert from kvcd to avi.
I can burn the files I have to kvcd easily, but I do not want to...
I WANT TO END UP WITH AN AVI FILE. (Div x / X vid)
Better quality, easier to edit, better for storage, can move to a usb key to watch on my tv.
Please all I want is to convert this stupid format which causes endless problems to one which is more flexible, retains better quality and is easier to manage.
Help please

BloodAndVelvet Guest | Why do you specifically need AVI format?
My route to watching a film in BIN format was:
1. Load the BIN file into PowerISO (or similar).
2. Extract the contents to a location of my choice.
3. Start Media Player Classic (or similar) which already knows about MPEG files.
4. Drag and drop the AVSEQ01.DAT file onto MPC (no need to rename).
5. Get beer (substitute drink of your choice) and snacks, settle in, pause for toilet/beer run every so often ...
6. ... Fell asleep part way through so restart film from last scene I can remember.

cools007 Guest | omg are you people tards or somethink? all you do with a kvcd is either watch it on your pc useing vlc media player whitch you drag the bin file into it or if you want to burn it you need a cd-r disc so insert the disc and open your file and click on the cue sheet and open with nero it will burn it for you its as easy as that

ATLASpanic Guest | ANY FOOL WHO THINKS ITS BEST TO SAVE A MOVIE IN A FORMAT WHERE THE ONLY OPTION IS TO BURN IT TO A DISC IS RETARDED.
NO ONE WANTS KVCD, NO ONE CARES ABOUT KVCD, WHO USES CD-R still? IF ITS NOT DVD-RW THEN ITS A USB DRIVE...
KVCD IS LIKE USING A FLOPPY DRIVE to save a picture AND CALLING IT A NEW IDEA... retarded its technology working in reverse
IF YOU MAKE KVCD go FuCk YoUR SelF
