SMV Newbie Guest | I humbly request help from the pros....
Is there any software out there that converts SMVs BACK to other files like AVI or WMV? I have a player that uses only WMV files now, and I have SMV files I would like to convert. Windows media and other software does not recognize the file as a source option....HELP? (tons of software claims to convert TO SMV but nothing FROM SMV..???)

Daikras Guest | I am having the same problem. Am searching for it now. I got nothing to do all weekend, and I want this converter now!!! (I’m stubborn when the net doesn’t give me what I want. Hehehe.) Will post again if I find anything.

daikras Guest | I have found a couple programs in my search, so I’ll just post them all in one list on every forum I joined while looking. Prepare for a carbon copy.
- Powerman
I looked for a free download of this for all of five seconds. I kept getting references to some power management sites, and to the musician powerman 5000, so I gave up pretty quickly. I knew I’d never find the stuff I needed in that haystack.
- Magix VideoDX
I paid a little more attention to this prog, but from what I could tell, it’s pretty high end, and you need a decent vid card to support it, plus, VideoDX is a brand name. Couldn’t get the prog’s full name.

Raffles Guest | Same here... I just got a “GoGear” (Philips) media player and want to get rid off the *.SMV that came with the player, but not delete them completely; thus convert them to a more normal format like *.MOV, *.MPEG, etc. Does anybody knows abut a converter from SMV to any other format (for free)?
