WIDESCREEN to FULLSCREEN

Help, I just got a DVD burner and all the downloaded movies I try to burn shrink to a ridiculas size on my TV and take up about a third of the screen. I need to know if I need a better DVD burning software or if there is some sort of aspect ratio for Intervideo WinDVD creator 2 that I should know about that would make the movies larger without distorting it too much.

Thanks they burn full screen now but for some reason during movies they will suddenly pause and you have to fast forward to get it moving again, and at the end of the movie it always skips allot???? What could be the reason for all this pausing and skipping and how could I fix it??
