I have the same problem orignaly when i first started dl movies that came as .BIN. Other than file conversion you can solve this problem.
Ok go to google and do a search for a program called DAEMON Tools (version 4 works best) Dl that and install it. This si a CD Drive emulation program, it creates a ghost drive (up to four at anytime) on your computer. Ok now how to use it.

Ok look for the quick launch icon on far right of the task bar. Right click on Virtual CD/DVD-ROM set the number of devices to how ever many you want. Select a drive and click “Mount Image” select the BIN file. ocne you do that a new window should open go into MPEGAV adn there’s your film which will open up and play perfectly well on Windows Media Player.

Hi,
I tried VCDGear to convert Cue/Bin to Mpeg but it make no difference to me. The resulting Mpeg file could not be played in my Windows media player, DivX player and real player, but it played in VLC media player. VLC plays original Bin file to then whats the difference, why to convert into Mpeg using VCD gear, if there be any mistake from my side then pls let me know.
I want to make it playable to Windows Media player.
thanks

hi there...ok when you convert bin/cue to mpeg it won’t play in media player well try using vcdgear again but use the option of converting mpeg to mpeg (you’ll find it on the dropdown list)this works more often than not..(please note that you need to convert bin/cue to mpeg first then use mpeg to mpeg)

HI Daviencle,
I tried to convert the cue/bin to Mpeg and then resulting mpeg to mpeg from drop down menu which gave me new strange file mpeg.rsrc and this new file could not be played on any players, neither on VLC media player nor in Windows media player. What to do.
thanks for your response.

hi there drosera,
rsrc is a macintosh file extention (apple/mac)you can find out more info at this link http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=RSRC
or why not try to convert the origanal mpeg file to vob using winavi, or on nero using make your own DVD-Video...might work...or maybe you downloaded a bad file(that happens to me alot)let me know how you get on,if it is the worst i’ll try to think of something else....never give up smiley 25-5-06,,,7-46 pm uk time...had a bit more of a think about this prob..bin/cue is an image file, try opening nero and on cd click on burn image to disc..when you open the folder where your movie is only the cue file will show, highlight it and then click burn, the result will be a vcd or svcd which will play on your pc and most dvd players (vcd = video compact disc & svcd = super video compact disc)hope that this of some help...p.s i forgot to mention that you will need the correct codecs to play mpeg files, one of the best codecs is called ffdshow you can get a copy free of charge from this link www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm and click the first one (top one)

I don’t understand all you people why do you want to convert a Bin / Cue file to mpeg?

Bin / Cue files are the best format there is out there becuase it only takes 3 mins to burn a movie to a cd-r disk and less than that to burn a program. Thats better than wating to burn a AVI or MPEG to a dvd disk becuase that takes about 3 hours.

I always download Bin / Cue files becuase....
1. Quicker to burn
2. Costs more money to buy dvd disks than cd
3. There smaller in file size so the download should be quicker than downloading a MPEG or AVI
unless your downloading a DivX becuase they are compressed well but then you have still got to burn that to a DVD disk which will take a few hours.

I recommend downloading Bin / Cue files.
if you want to know how to watch them its simple
stick a cd-r into your cd drive right click on the Cue file find a program you have on your computer that will burn Bin files i use
NERO ULTRA EDITION and the program in NERO i use is NERO BURNING ROM, then after you have selected the programe you want to open the Cue file with tick the box that says
“Always use this selected programe to open this kind of file” then all you have to do every time you have a Bin and Cue file is double click the Cue file and it will open in the programe you selected it to open with like NERO BURNING ROM.

I hope this comes in usefull to some people.

What i want to do with that VCDGEAR 3 prog is convert a MPEG 1 file to a Bin / Cue file so that i don’t have to wait as long to burn to disk and i can then make copys of virtualy any film in any kind of format and burn to a cd disk by converting it to MPEG using WinAVI Video Converter and then converting the MPEG file to Bin / Cue file using that VCDgear.
I know this can be done becuase i have already done it but can’t remember how i done it so il have to keep trying till i have learnt.
so if anybody knows how to convert MPEG to Bin please tell me.
The error messages in VCDgear i keep getting when i try to convert MPEG to Bin are
" Invalid MPEG Pack Size "
and
" Access Violation at adress 00466EBA in module 'vcdgear.exe'. Read of address 00000D42 "
If anybody has any info about this or a easier and better way to convert MPEG 1, KVCD, AVI etc. to Bin / Cue please tell me
THANKS

hi there raver 41,your comment has been noted...if you are happy using vcd’s then stick to it,but please don’t knock people that want to convert bin/cue to mpeg and put them on dvd..ok it takes longer but the wait is well worth the time...and your question about using vcdgear to create bin/cue files...the answer is..i would not recomend vcdgear, there plenty of dedecated progs out there to use....as for nero 7,it has to many bugs at the mo so i use nero 6.6.0.13..no faults at all...catch you later smiley

Hey guys. I recently downloaded a bin file off a torrent site. After reading your forum I got vcdgear. I got it running and I try to load my bin file I have stored in a folder.

Problem is that once I try to load that bin file I can’t seem to locate it and yes I’m using the “cue/bin -> mpeg” conversion option. Its a .BIN file but once I select “load” I can only see .CUE files.

I need help.
