OK, i have been playing .ogm for months with no problem. I came back to some i haven’t played in a while. Since I last played them I have reformated my windows hard drive. I have about 100-150 .ogm files and there are about 40 that do not work. I even have a series of episodes and even though they are the same encode they stop playing after the first 6 play fine. When I play it(i have tried many players : media player classic, BS player, windows, core media, media center, ...) all have same problem. When I play it does not give me an error message, it simply plays the file no video or sound, but the counter does go. I can not seek. I really want to know what is going on. I have installed, uninstalled, etc specific codec for the files so no conflicts. Any ideas, thanks.

Can you try feeding the videos into avicodec or gspot? (Not videotoolbox - videotoolbox can’t read ogm) What do they say for codec? Another thing to try would be virtualdubMOD.
