ok, i can help you. need to know what kind of disc you converted. i use both nero and winavi all the time, but i use nero version 6. let me say this much. lets assume you had winavi convert the avi into a dvd. it creates 2 folders a audio_ts and a video_ts folder. note that the audio folder is ALWAYS empty and does not contain any files. the video_ts folder contains all the audio-video needed to burn the dvd. a dvd consists of 3 impt kinds of files: vob’s, ifo’s and bup’s. the BUP files are backup files. the IFO’s are like a traffic cop that tells the video what to play and when, i.e. menu’s, extra’s and so on. to get them on a dvd disc, open nero. go to burning rom screen. make sure you pick dvd video and that your dvd burner is listed in the upper window. leave settings at default. on right side of new compliation window, click NEW. a new four panel screen opens up. on the 3rd screen where you see your hard drive files, scan down to find the name of the folder that has the movie. if there is a plus sign, click on it. it should say dvd_0, click the next sub folder plus sign and keep clicking until you see the video_ts folder. highlight it and on the right side you’ll see all the movie files vob’s, ifo’s and bup’s.highlight the first file you see, then direct your cursor to the top of the screen to EDIT and click it. scan down and click select all. all the files will be blue. put you mouse on the blue files and left click holding down the left mouse. drag and drop the files over to the Name column and release mouse. now they are all ready. at top click burn and you should be good to go. of course have a blank disc in the burner. hope this helps
