I had already installed an XP codec pack and thought everything was working fine, but I realized that when I tried to open a video it would show up as pixelated rainbow colors. The audio worked though. So I uninstalled that and installed the K-Lite package. After that, videos seem to play fine in the Windows Classic Player that comes with the package, but it’s the same in WMP. So I installed DivX as well - now the video starts to play fine in WMP, but after a few seconds it will “stick”, and so will the audio, and it sometimes freezes Windows.
I’m running a Radion 9600, so I installed the net framework 2.0 so I could install the CCC from ATI, but that didn’t do any good. I’ve experimented with uninstalling codecs and installing other packages, but it’s always the same.
What’s wrong with my codecs? |
