GminiUser Guest | I recently bought an Archos Gmini 400.
The divx movie files I get off P2P software work very well on the computer. But when I transfer the files to my Gmini, the audio goes out of sync.
Any suggestions?

Tristian Guest | the reason the audio and video are out of sync is because the gmini has trouble with video files that have Variable Bit Rate (VBR) audio. If you re-encode the clip to have a standard bit rate it’ll work perfectly - I’m hoping that archos will get enough complaints about this and add a fix to a future firmware update

mastreb Guest | The problem is caused by two seconds of blank video at the beginning of most DVDs that the Archos fails to properly recognize. Solve the problem by using any tool that can split (slice) AVI files and slice off the first 5 seconds (or the entire studio colophon, if you want).
Then your files will work perfectly.

abject Guest | Mastreb - I like that idea more than recoding an entire avi file. Any suggestions on such a tool?
