It seems like bunch of people have the same problem finding this codec 45.

ken Guest | I found the following posting for the same problem, tried it, and it worked:
http://www.codec-download.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=242&ttitle=G_726_Audiocodec
Near the middle of that page is the message [download this file now] which fixed it for me.

tim Guest | I have the Samsung DVC Media software that also required this codec 45 in order to play it. In order to send it to someone else, I have to have them install this codec first as it’s not available via microsoft. I’ve posted it at http://www.webvines.com/help/supportfiles/Camcorder%20Codec/JVCG726E.EXE
Although it asks you to reboot, it is not required, so click no. Good luck!

Louis J Guest | I have a Canon Optura XI video camera and after installing the stock “M.S." compatible software, tried to play the MPEG style videos and came up with the Codec 45 error. I was astounded that this worked - but am very happy that it did. It worked without rebooting my system. Thank you for posting these solutions!!! Louis

GrayGhost Guest | Yes, I repeat Louis J’s thanks. I have the Samsung software as well and I was just astounded to see that Microsoft dosen’t carry this codec on their site. I guess they just left it to the 'little people' to mess around with. Isn’t that just like them? :P
Thanks for the links again.

Tim Guest | Matt, If you download the .exe file and run it from the website then it should load for you. You may need to either lower your browser security or your windows security settings as it does contain an activex component that higher security settings prevent you from loading as they can do malicious things to your computer. Make sure that you remember what setting you had them on before so that you can change it back when you are finished.
One more note, this will only correct it for the camcorders mentioned in this thread. We can not Guarantee it’s functionality for any other device.
Regards,
-Tim
