I want to know which soft DVP player will play a movie with VOB file extension? Win Media player is not doing it - audio come sthhorugh but not the m pics
Can anyone help me identify the right palyer to download

You can play it on Windows XP with using the InterVideo WinDVD player.

How can I change the format of vob files to something that can be edited with any of the following software vegas 5.0, ulead 9.0, or pinnical or is there a software program that these files come from??

I got the file converted to use for editng via pc software, but the output is not very good. It seems to degrade when you convert them. The best thing to do if you have a video camera that formats a dvd is not to format it at all before you try and edit it via a PC.

They have all your video editing, and compressing software u need. Should convert the .vob file using divx. Divx makes the file smaller with almost no lost of sound or video.

how do i convert this video into a wma file type cause it wont let me and it says that i dont have the codecs for it and it something else about vob/mpg file and having to download something cause im using winavi converter. cause i also want to shrink the file so i can burn it to a cd

You need a codec pack they are all over the internet for free but i use the ACE bundle. Its really big but i never have to worry about codecs.

Try to use QuickTime for files with extension, and mantain video and audio quality like a normal DVD.

My Uncle just died, and we have a file on his son’s pc that is a .vob file of his last interviews before he died. Unfortunately none of our PCs can read it, PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

VOB is an mpeg file. Just change the extension manually from VOB to mpg and it will play as a regular MPEG-2 file. You won’t have all the menus and subs that the original DVD had, but the file will play as SVCD.

Changing the extension from VOB to MPEG does not work.
It accepts the file but it shows a blank screen when playing.

VOB file is part from a video ts folder and is a DVD image file.Can be play with Power DVD by Cyberlink or Win DVD by Intervideo.If you don’t have any of them (both are shareware) download a free player like VLC or Media Classic work very well and if you keep the subtitle in the same folder is going to work with. From VOB if you have the entire video ts folder with ifo and buh files you can burn the dvd with any dvd burning software you may have.If you have only the vob file you may use DVD Shrink and reauthor the vob and create a new dvd or use IfoEdit but is more for advanced users.Also if you want to change the vob to a MPEG or avi file you have to convert it, changing the extension won’t help. To burn VOB files onto a DVD use DVD Shrink (freeware) and it compresses all the files onto a DVD disc.
