Hi, i downloaded a movie in parts. 001,002,003, and so fourth. I used HJ Split to join the parts together, it created an avi file, and everything seems fine. but when i click to play it Media Classic Player comes up, and widens for the movie, but nothing plays. the name of the movie is at the top, but no time length.

i am not very smart when it comes to this stuff so any help would be appricated, thank you.

OK there’s two possibilities.
1. It’s a split file. HJSplit/MasterSplitter/WinSplit will recombine. The caveat is you need all the parts. Usually if it’s incomplete Media Player Classic may still be able to play it. You tried that, but it doesn’t appear to work.
2. It’s an rar. Normally rar files end in part1.rar part2.rar part3.rar (modern way) or .rar .r00 .r01 .r02 etc. (old way). But some people name them .001 .002 .003 etc. I genuinely wish they’d stop doing that because there’s no way to know if they’re split files or rar files at a glance. If it’s the second type, winrar will be able to extract the contents. http://www.rarlabs.com
