Hey gang, first post here, hoping somebody can help.

I have Xfi Sound card, I use ffdshow for codecs and everything runs fine on Winamp. The reason I went with ffdshow is cause I can make the sound higher. I am using 5.1 have it set up correct but the sound isnt high enough for my liking.

Like if I play a DVD with PowerDVD it doesnt do as loud as I would like. or if I play a file in VLC media player it doesnt go as loud as I would like. So I use ffdshow and winamp to play my avi movie files and stuff

What I want to know is how can I use ffdshow for like PowerDVD, VLC player, everything. Cause Its pretty bad when I would much rather download a movie then just pop in the DVD I own cause the sound is so low.

Again when I load a file in Winamp the ffdshow automatically works and boosts the audio volume. I guessed other players like VLC has their built in codecs but PowerDVD I have no clue. I just want to be able to boost my sound when playing a DVD and I cant figure it out.

Thanks so much
