Reverb on Windows

Hi,

My mother has Windows XP Home edition, and since she tried to listen to a Bible on CD, CD, her sound has been screwed. Every sound file on her computer plays out with reverb on it. I’ve looked under the sound adjustments, but nothing changes it. If she listens with her headphones, she still gets the reverb, so it’s not coming from her speakers. I’ve transferred the files to my MP3 player, and there is no reverb.
It must be something to do with a setting in the computer but I just can’t find what it could be!!!
Anyone have any idea??
