pink and white lines in mpg

when i use winavi to convert from divx to vcd or kvcd some files have pink and white lines along the left hand side. anyone know why or how to fix .. cheers .............
ps i can do it using other programs but they all take a lot longer than Winavi..............

I use WinAVI 7.7 never had a picture quality problem related to the program,maybe the movie.before converting to vcd go to the advanced settings ,check to see what the aspect ratio settings are at.wide screen 16:1 regular tv screen 4:3 ( i think i have the ratios right)anyway you will seen then and check the region settings,NTSC-for north america

Just wanted to add,older movies uploaded from a VHS tape convert sometimes better using 4:3,play the movie and see if it looks like wide screen or regular screen and adjust the settings to the screen.Good luck

hi guys .. i did a HD clearout and got 40 gig spare and all conversions work correctly now ... thanks anyway ...
