I am very new to video editing, and am in the process of converting my 8mm camcorder tapes onto DVD. I am using Windows Movie Maker to input the tapes onto my computer. When I input from my camera, I can create a file on my hardrive, however I have video and no audio. I am very new to this, and have been learning about codecs all night. I have installed alot and gotten nowhere. The card in the computer has audio/video cables and also a cable hookup. I can also select the option to input from the cable TV as a source for a file also.. Same thing. I can create a file with the source from the cable TV, but NO AUDIO. Someone PLEASE HELP! Thanks

I am having the same problem. I have downloaded every trail version the Internet has to offer. So far the best has been Canopus.
I am looking for the best quality whether that is H.264 or Sorenson or VP70!
Anyone have any clue? I am looking for DVD quality Compression!!!
